Sara Ponchak brings a unique background to The McKenna Group of WEICHERT, REALTORS® — New Colony. She has a strong visual sense, plus a knack for coordinating complex projects. This is perfect combination for serving her clients.
Sara earned a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and then entered the workplace as a scheduling analyst for the government and an aerospace company.
“Communication was key to my past success. I helped engineers verbalize their tasks, while helping managers balance resources, maintain awareness of budget issues and adhere to the critical path. Now as a Realtor®, I’ll be breaking down into plain language the process of buying or selling a home, and then I’ll coordinate each step on behalf of my clients: staging, contracts, inspections, negotiation, titles and closing.
Sara thrives on hard work, and is willing to take risks and apply her creativity to solving a problem or meeting a goal. She also believes in karma and lives by its principles. “Whatever you do comes back to you,” she says. “I love helping people and making them happy.”
Sara grew up in Baltimore, Md., and now resides in Mount Airy, Md. with her husband and two boys. She enjoys refinishing and repurposing furniture, and working on her house. “I can recognize the potential in a house and know what’s possible,” she says. Sara supports PATH – Parents at Home, which is a nonprofit organization that supports caregivers who stay home to raise their young children. She is a past vice president of the Mt. Airy chapter and sat on the board of directors of PATH.
