Michael McKenna is an associate broker and the president of WEICHERT, REALTORS® – New Colony, with offices in Columbia, Md., Mount Airy, Md. and now Eldersburg, Md.
Michael also leads the McKenna Group, which serves northwest Carroll County to southern Howard County with a select team of full-time, dedicated, professional Realtors®.
"I have a passion for leading others to the edge of their comfort zone and watching them succeed beyond their expectations. I am building a team of confident, growth-seeking individuals who will be true client advocates. We're not here just to fill in the blanks on a contract. We create a well thought out plan for presenting a buyer's offer, just as we develop a competitive strategy for selling a home."
A large part of the McKenna Group's sales strategy comes through Michael's certification as an e-PRO® by the National Association of Realtors®. Michael has put into place a system for maximizing web-based marketing: several social media accounts, stunning photography and staging, online tours and dedicated URLs for each property. This allows each of his Realtors® to focus solely on client relationships and the details of a transaction.
Michael is motivated by his firm belief that anything is possible. "If you want it bad enough and focus on the end goal, you will achieve it." For Michael, that means bringing together his roles as mentor, recruiter and business owner to continue to build WEICHERT, REALTORS® – New Colony. He opened a new office in Mount Airy in December 2014 and will continue to look for opportunities to grow.
Michael co-founded WEICHERT, REALTORS® – New Colony in February 2007, as part of the Weichert Real Estate Affiliates, Inc. franchise. This linked New Colony Realtors, co-founded by Michael McKenna and David Vane in October of 2004, to one of the nation's largest private providers of real estate services. Michael and David founded New Colony Property Management in January 2012, for which Michael is COO.
Michael is a member of the Howard County Association of Realtors®, the Maryland Association of Realtors® and the National Association of Realtors®. He is president of the Mid-Atlantic Broker Council, Weichert Real Estate Affiliates.
Raised in Burtonsville, Md., Michael now resides in Columbia, Md. He graduated from Frostburg State University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science degree in health and physical science, with a minor in business management.
He supports St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, donates time and resources to Toys for Tots, and supports and sponsors The Columbia Home Tours and the Howard County Housing Fair.
